ToolTorq Sign-Up Opens Soon

ToolTorq, our staff CRM for trade businesses, is nearly ready. Sign-up opens soon, either connected to your ServiceM8 account or self-contained.

ToolTorq has been built and refined alongside real ServiceM8 work, and it is now close to opening to customers. Paid sign-up opens soon, once payment setup is complete. This article explains what ToolTorq is, the two ways it will run, what is in the workspace, how customisation works on top of the package, and how to register interest before sign-up goes live.

Pricing is still being finalised. The aim is a price that supports wide adoption across trade and service businesses, rather than a premium per-seat model, so the final plans may differ from any figures shown while the product is in preview. If you want to talk pricing before it is announced, we are happy to discuss it.

ToolTorq is a Proanalytica product. It is a CRM and staff portal for trade and service businesses, built around the work that sits between a job enquiry and a finished invoice. It is not an official ServiceM8 product, and it is not a replacement for ServiceM8.

    Two ways to run ToolTorq

The biggest decision is whether ToolTorq connects to your ServiceM8 account or runs on its own.

    ServiceM8 connected

If ServiceM8 already runs your jobs, ToolTorq adds the office and customer layer around it. You keep your own ServiceM8 subscription, and after you sign in you paste your ServiceM8 API key into the workspace settings. ToolTorq then works with the jobs and clients already in your account.

    Self-contained

If you do not use ServiceM8, or you would rather run one system, ToolTorq works on its own. No ServiceM8 account is needed, and ToolTorq never calls ServiceM8.

Moving from ServiceM8 connected to self-contained is a one-way change that Proanalytica runs for you. It is worth deciding which mode fits before you start, rather than assuming you can switch back and forth.

    Pricing is still being set

Both modes will be billed monthly, and pricing is not final yet. We are working through what a price needs to look like for wide market adoption, so we are not publishing fixed plan prices at this stage. The final figures, GST treatment and any setup or trial options will be confirmed before paid sign-up opens.

If pricing is the thing holding you back from registering interest, ask. We would rather talk through what would make ToolTorq work for your business than have you guess at a number.

    What is in the workspace

ToolTorq is built around the records an office team touches every day:

    • Jobs with context. Job details, tasks, notes and client history stay together from the first quote to completed work.
    • Clients and contacts. Find the people behind each job, with contact details and a shared record of the work.
    • Quotes you can send. Build itemised quotes and download a PDF ready to share with your client.
    • A schedule for the team. Plan bookings in the project timeline and keep track of staff availability and leave.
    • Planned versus recorded labour. Admins can compare planned and recorded time, review utilisation and spot jobs that need attention.
    • Email and SMS in context. Use message templates and keep job communication history. You connect your own SendGrid or Twilio account for standalone sending.
    • Scoped API access. Read jobs and clients through scoped API keys so your other tools can work with the same records.
    • An AI assistant, in development. Connect an AI assistant with workspace access controls. Read access and admin-only write tools are still being built, so this is not part of the first release.

Each customer gets an isolated workspace. Your ServiceM8 API key is encrypted at rest and cannot be read back from the browser. The key is entered inside the workspace, never on the marketing website.

Customisation on top of the package

The ToolTorq package is the standard workspace. Some businesses need more than the standard package, and that is where customisation comes in. We can build on top of ToolTorq for:

    • extra reports and dashboards
    • document and report generation from job data
    • a branded quote wizard or client portal
    • integrations with Xero, supplier feeds or other systems
    • industry-specific forms and workflows
    • data migration and clean-up before go-live
    • AI assistant workflows once that feature is ready

Custom work is scoped and quoted separately from the ToolTorq subscription. It is the same approach we already use on client projects: the product covers the common ground, and custom work covers the parts that are specific to your business. If you are not sure whether something belongs in the package or in custom work, ask us and we will tell you plainly.

    What sign-up will look like

    The flow is deliberately short:

    1. Choose a plan: ServiceM8 connected or Self-contained.
    2. Pay by card on a secure hosted payment page, at the final plan price.
    3. Receive an email invitation to the first administrator.
    4. Sign in. If you chose ServiceM8 connected, paste your ServiceM8 API key in the workspace settings.

Billing will be monthly. Setup fees, trial options and the final plan prices are still being decided, so confirm them with us before you sign up.

    Who it is for

ToolTorq suits a trade or service business where the office has outgrown spreadsheets, inboxes and disconnected tools, but the field team is not going to change how it works. Jobs, clients, quotes, scheduling and staff administration sit in one place, and ServiceM8 stays the operational system for the work in the field where that is the right fit.

It is not aimed at every business. A sole trader with a simple workflow is usually better served by ServiceM8 alone. The strongest fit is a team with office staff, several people managing jobs, repeated data entry, reporting that takes too long, or a need for better visibility across customers and operations.

    How to register interest

Paid sign-up is not open yet. To register interest before it is, email [email protected] or visit tooltorq.app for the current product detail.

If you want to talk pricing, customisation, or whether ToolTorq and a custom layer fit your business, request a proposal or ask us directly. We reply within two business days.
